Neuer Stoffmarkt in Berlin // New fabric Market in Berlin

Am Dienstag war ich endlich mal wieder auf dem Markt am Maybachufer - für alle, die den Markt noch nicht kennen:

Der Markt am Kanal in Kreuzberg/Neukölln in Berlin hat so ziemlich alles, was man auch am Bosporus finden würde - daher heisst er auch " Türkischer Markt". Der Charm dieses Marktes liegt an den vielen verschiedenen Gerüchen, Sounds und vielen unterschiedliche Farben und Nationalitäten - wie auf einem orientalischen Markt. Man findet hier hauptsächlich Gemüse, Antipasti und Obst, aber auch eine Menge an Stoffen und Nähaccessoires - leider seeehr viele synthetische Stoffe, aber manchmal auch richtig gute und sehr günstige Baumwollstoffe - gepunktete und karierte Baumwollstoffe gibt es an einem Stand immer für 3€ pro Meter! Ich liebe auch immer die Strassenmusiker, die meist am Ende des Marktes spielen, oder wie hier auch gerne mal durch den Mittelgang laufen... und von den Händlern dann schnell verscheucht werden - LEIDER!

Mostly Berlin schrieb über den Markt: "definitely not for the faint-hearted: whole families complete with pram and shopping-trolleys are haggling over boxes of grapes or tomatoes, it's always super crowded. imagine a busy saturday at ikea - and double that. just to give you a vague idea."  Dem Stimme ich voll und ganz zu!

On Tuesday I was finally back on the market at the Maybachufer - for those who haven't heard  about the market yet, here is a short describtion:

The market close to the canal in Kreuzberg / Neukölln in Berlin has just about everything you would find on the Bosporus - hence it is also called "Turkish market." The charm of this market lies in the many different smells, sounds and many different colors and nationalities - as in an oriental market. One can find mainly vegetables, antipasti and fruits, but also a lot of fabrics and sewing materials - unfortunately very very many synthetic fabrics, but sometimes really good and very cheap cotton fabrics -  There is one stall that offers dotted and checkered cotton fabrics for 3 € per meter ! I also love the street musicians who play at the end of the market, or sometimes they also walk down the aisle ... until they are banished by the merchants - unfortunately!

Ab Samstag 30.10. gibt es einen neuen wöchentlichen Markt samstags am Maybachufer:

From Saturday, Ocotber 30th, there is a new weekly market on saturdays at the Maybachufer:

NEUKÖLLNER STOFF

Saturdays 10 am - 4pm

Leider werde ich diesen Samstag nicht hingehen können! Falls einer von Euch geht, kann er ja gerne mal darüber berichten oder mir Bescheid sagen, wie es war!

Eigentlich wäre ich jetzt bei der Eröffnungsparty vom Mosaic House in Prag... aber leider ist der liebste Mann krank.  Wenn ihr also mal eine suuuuper Unterkunft in Prag sucht, kann ich das Mosaic House und die Geschwister Häuser Miss Sophies, Sir Tobys und Czech Inn seeehr empfehlen!

Normally I would be at the opening Party of Mosaic House in Prague right now... but unfortunately my husband is sick, so I stayed at home.
